A Sudden Ray of Light (Fahrenheit)
Broken Hill, Australia
2025 (1988)

This photograph hangs in the hallway at Ola and Kristin's, where I stay when I'm in Oslo. One day in 2025, I walked through the door just as the sun was slipping into the living room, hitting a picture on the opposite wall and casting a perfect shaft of light across the image. It lasted only a few seconds — and then the light was gone. I just managed to capture this photograph. A personal reinterpretation of my own work. The original image is from Dior's Fahrenheit campaign, which I photographed in Australia in 1988. We spent three weeks, with a huge crew and an entire production machine, to create a single photograph.
